Nice and easy! Skip ahead to "Packing" and get started.
👉 Shipping from outside the EU or overseas?
Alright, listen up - following these steps will save you from unexpected costs and endless delays.
- Choose a real shipping service! Go with DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc. - DO NOT use your local postal service. Trust us on this.
- Customs love details, so let`s give them what they want:
- Prepare a proper commercial invoice (Download template here).
- Declare the value realistically - high enough to avoid issues, but low enough to keep customs fees reasonable.
- Broken turbos aren`t worth thousands.
- Brand-new turbos aren`t worth 1 euro.
- Avoid vague descriptions like "car parts". Instead write "Turbocharger(s) for passenger car, for analysis/repair/upgrade."
- Customs love details, so let`s give them what they want:
- Attach the invoice to the outside of the box! Keep a copy - if customs misplace it, we might need to ask for another one.
Packing - do it right, so we don`t get a turbo puzzle!
1️⃣ Use a strong box! If the packaging isn`t solid, the turbo won`t survive the journey - and neither will our patience.
2️⃣ Cushion the bottom! Foam, crumpled paper, clean rags - whatever you have. Bubble wrap and thin foam? Not good enough!
3️⃣ Place the turbo in the center, actuator facing up!
4️⃣ Fill al gaps with padding! The turbo must not touch the box, no matter how it`s handled.
5️⃣ Protect actuators & moving parts! If they break, we get a bag of turbo confetti.
6️⃣ Include a note with your details! Name, email, phone number, order number - this speeds things up.
7️⃣ Top it off with more padding! No empty space, no loose parts.
8️⃣ Double-boxing is the gold standard:
- Turbo in a strong box
- That box goes inside another sturdy box with extra padding
9️⃣ Shipping multiple turbos? Make sure they don`t knock into each other.
🔟 Label it properly! Mark at least three sides with "Fragile" or "Glass" + your order number.
Bottom line:
The better you pack it, the faster and smoother things go - and the less we have to play turbo jigsaw! 😜
